The different techniques of hair removal are now being popular among people especially in women. These techniques can either be done in spas with the aid of professionals or one can do it in their own homes. But of course, when done at your own homes, careful procedure must be done in order to avoid consequences such as mild burns and lacerations. But if done in the spas, one can assure the safety and efficacy of the procedure however, one must pay a very large amount in order to achieve effective and long-term effects.
The common method of hair removal is through shaving or waxing. In shaving, you just need to have a specialized blade that would be able to remove the superficial hair outgrowth without destroying or wounding the skin. In waxing, one would need to have a wax solution applied on the skin and this is followed by applying a wax paper and with a split of second, one must remove this immediately to avoid prolonging the pain upon uprooting the hair. But aside from these two methods, below are more and newer techniques that are being used for hair removal nowadays.
Laser Hair Removal
Using laser for hair removal is of less pain but more efficient. Plus the effect of using laser therapy for removal is much longer than shaving and/or waxing since it could last for weeks of months. In laser hair removal therapy, the laser is being used to target the roots of the hair follicles in order to avoid its growth of the future hair shafts. Before, this laser therapy for hair removal was quite expensive but due to its popularity nowadays, there are now salons and spas that offer cheap laser hair therapy but still with great effect.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis, though not really popular, is another method being used for hair removal. This technique could provide a permanent hairless skin. In electrolysis, this technique uses a small needle that would slide down into the hair follicle itself until it would reach the area that is responsible for hair growth. This electrolytic needle would target these cells and destroying them so that the hair follicle would no longer grow back thus its permanent effect.
Vaniqa
Another new technique being used for hair removal is Vaniqa, topical agent that is also known as elfornithine 13.9%. This elfornithine is responsible for targeting the enzyme that stimulates the hair growth by directly inhibiting it. Therefore, when this enzyme is depleted or inhibited, the growth of the hair on that specific area would be retarded and may be eventually stopped permanently. But this topical cream is best used for only certain parts of the body such as the upper lip, cheeks and chin. But when being used for the larger areas of the body, this cream does not work that effectively and may need to consume a lot of creams when applying to a certain skin area.
So here you have it, the newest and most effective methods of hair removal. From this, you can choose which one would be the most effective yet safe for you to use.
